Dolphin Yacht club was founded in March of 1955. There were twenty-four charter members who had an inspired vision of a great future for sport and pleasure boating on the Columbia River with headquarters at the Camas/Washougal Port Dock. In 1958 their vision came true when they leased the building next to the Port of Camas Washougal Offices. This is where the Dolphin's club house still sits today overlooking the Columbia River.
Our mission is simple; we are a social group who practices fun, safe and responsible boating in the Northwest.
In addition to the busy cruise schedule we enjoy during the year, we also host social gatherings at our clubhouse. As members of the Columbia River Yachting Association we participate in all of their events.
All members have access to club facilities for personal use.
Membership dinner/meeting is held on the 1st Friday of each month. Dinners are potlucks or member prepared specials.
DYC is a non-profit organization having 3 major fund raisers per year.
1. Holiday Parade of Lighted Boats in Kalama, WA.
2. Ladies Night in May with an open invitation to all local yacht clubs. The DYC men do all the cooking, serving and entertaining, which they are well known for.
3. Closing Day, the first week-end in October, with friendly competitions between various clubs; including horseshoes, line toss, cannon firing and much more.

Although you normally associate the word Dolphin with the water mammal our name actually comes from the Dolphin #50 light that our members used to fish off on the Columbia River.
